Come to the Stable

For

A Christmas Canticle

"THE BIRTH OF THE HUMBLE KING"

Come......

listen, once again, to the timeless story of that little Baby born in a stable in Bethlehem that glorious night that little baby sent to save you and me and the whole world! The birth of the humble King!

THE WHOLE NATIVITY STORY AND MORE

TOLD IN SONG, MUSIC AND STORY

Over 800 years ago Saint Francis of Assisi arranged the first Nativity in the village of Greccio. Francis was concerned that people were losing the true meaning and significance of the birth of our precious Lord Jesus Christ and so he enlisted the people of Greccio to create a realistic setting with live animals and candles and singing and the welcoming hosts of the Holy Family, those who first beheld the most miraculous birth, the animals.*

As followers of Saint Francis, we have, for 12 years, presented this Christmas Canticle for the same reason, to awaken hearts that have lost the real, true and beautiful meaning of Christmas. This miraculous birth that changed

THE WHOLE WORLD FOREVER!!

And so in this tradition we present A Christmas Canticle, in a stable, with live animals all around, with hay bales for seats. We invite you to come to the stable and make a manger of your heart,

ready to receive

the Christ Child.

(You can read the artucle about St. Francis and about the very first Nativity that he began close to 800 years ago, accessable just to the right of this page)

THEN COME.....

See what it really might have been like that Bethlehem Holy Night when Love was born and the Angels sang, All glory to God in the Highest!!!!

This Christmas Canticle, is presented in a very realistic setting, in a stable with live animals all around, those who have come say that they really never quite "got it," meaning that what that night in Bethlehem might REALLY have been like, the hardship, adversity but also the great joy of the Holy Family, shepherds and even the animals. After the Canticle they feel much closer to the Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, they say they feel much more like part of that Universal family through time and

it enhances each

Christmas

every year!!

Please Note

Because we had to cut some dates because of tecnical problems we have added Additional dates HAVE BEEN ADDED between Christmas and New years in the Octave of Christmas leading up the celebration of the epiphany. We celebrate and honor the Church's tradition of the observance of the 12 days of Christmas (and beyond). This is a nice time to come to the stable, the Christmas rush is over, the jangled nerves are calmed, the family is visiting and it's a quiet time and there are not many activiites usually going on. It's a great family time to reflect together on the joy of the baby Jesus having just been born unto us in the Stable. Just in time to see the wise men arriving on the scene and to reflect on their journey and message and the coming new year of our Lord 2011!. These dates are added by request and as with any of the dates if there are no reservations for any date within 5 days of the presentation, it will not be presented. Do not hesitate to reserve early, you can change your dates if needed and it gives us some information we need.

There is no charge to attend the Christmas Canticle, a simple offering will be taken after each presentation to help us continue this work.

If you have a group you would like to bring to fill the whole stable on a special night, CALL US!!

The Christmas Canticle is held 5 miles from Oxford toward Bainbridge Area. Address and map below.

The post date on the top will not change no matter what I do...so just so you know this was not posted in April 2007 it was posted in late October 2010!!!
Well here we are with beautiful fall with all it's magnificent red and orange and yellow spender making a glorous exit! Last year unfortunatley we did not get to present our Christmas Canticle. We had volunteers that were going to put the wood stove in our barn, and even though they had a year they did not get it done. We had so much faith that they would do it that we had no back up and it did not happen and even though we were very disapointed and sad, we know that God always has a reason for how things happen.
Well Halleluya!! FINALLY!!!! We are going to do our Canticle in our own barn this year 2010! Finally the wood stove is done so we can have some heat, and while it could not heat the barn equivalent to a house in real cold weather, but we can at least take the chill off even if it's very cold outside. So we are trilled even a little heat source makes a difference. The dates as shown above are: December 10, 11 and 12 and December 17 thru 19 and 21 thru 23. If you come to the Canticle..please dress warmly anyway!!
We have presented this nativity for 12 years now. Some years we have done 12 to 15 presentations, so we have done about 65-75 presentations and to over 3000 people! We have gotten so many comments on the Canticle like, one is that Christmas has a much deeper and profound meaning in their lives like it never had before, and a feeling of closeness to Joseph, Mary and Jesus with a much deeper understanding of the reality of their lives and a profound love for the REAL meaning of Christmas, seeing the hardship of their lives in general and then the difficulty they suffered in bringing forth a baby in a stable. We hope so much to see you there this season, come celebrate with us!!

See information, dates and reservation information above.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND WE PRAY FOR YOU,
PLEASE PRAY FOR US -------Sr. Francis Gabriel

Well fall is falling her golden leaves on the ground and it is getting chilly! Ah, but this year this is a joyful time for us since we are finally going to get to do our Christmas Canticle in our own barn!! After having it two years at two different churches, we had to skip last year. Even though we had volunteers who promised they would get our wood stove in, so we would have some heat, and we were so sure of them we did not persist on a date and sadly at the last hour they did not show up and we were forced to cancel the whole season because at that time
it was too late to have it anywhere else.
Well this year 2010 we finally are going to present our Christmas Canticle in a very realistic setting, our own barn with live animals all around, people are always commenting that they really never quit "got it." Meaning that what that real night might really have been like for the Holy Family, and they feel much closer to the Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, they say they feel much more like part
of that Universal family through time.

HEART warming story :)

A puppy was born in Japan with a large, clear, heart-shaped pattern in his coat.
The chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder.

Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a puppy with this mark had been born out of a thousand she had bred.
She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named "Heart-kun".
